Last updated February 2009.
Titles, including translations, added within the last three monthly
updates are noted. Works previously
listed as "forthcoming" and now in print are likewise marked. Other updated
information is not flagged.
Each author's works are listed alphabetically under his or her name.
Pseudonyms are cross-referenced; a work is listed under the name(s) under
which it was published. Ghostwritten works are listed, when possible, under
both published and actual authors' names. In the case of co-authors, each
is listed separately and they are cross-referenced. If a work was published
under the by-line of "Anonymous," it is listed under Anonymous and, where
possible, the author is identified; the work will also appear under the
author's own entry, with the notation "anonymously." Fictive co-authors
(e.g., Sherlock Holmes) are referenced with the genuine author and designated
with [sic] but do not have their own entries.
On the category pages stories are listed however
they are credited in the published by-line. If a story has appeared
under more than one byline, it may appear multiple times on the page.
Translations are listed under the original-language title (when this
is known to me). Stories that are adaptations of others contain a reference
to the original work.
Dates given at the earliest publication date known to me at the time
of the last update. This column is being developed, and will be corrected,
as time permits.
Illustrators are not listed here unless the book has no substantial
text, although illustrators of picture books are given full credit in Ancient
Egypt in Fiction for Children. Illustrators of works in other categories
are being gradually added to the category pages and in the future I will
create a separate index for them. This includes creators of both cover
and interior art, for book, periodical, and web publication.
Links are provided to the location of the story on its category page.
Use your back button or the link at the bottom of each category page to
return to the Author Lists.

The index pages are updated at least monthly, usually more frequently.
All
lists are copyrighted and may not be reproduced in whole or in part without
permission, except that brief excerpts may
be published in the context of a review.

For authors whose works have not been categorized for one reason
or another, and translations whose original (usually English-language)
publications have not yet been identified,
so are not included in the Author List,

A reminder about the inexact art of
classification
Besides the authors whose
works appear listed on this page and the editors responsible for publishing
them, I am grateful to the following people, without whom this bibliography
would be far less complete:

Jan Bailey, George Beldon, Anita Cohen-Williams, Adrienne Doyle, Susan Edgar, Shannon
Enns, Gregory Feeley, François Foley, Greer Gilman, John Grant,
Elizabeth Griesman, Paula Guran, Andrew Harker, David Hartwell, Brett Hess,

asked to remain anonymous or who have not given me their names.
